About This Item

Boston, Mass: Ben Burk, Inc, 1935. Second Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. Red pebbled boards with oval color cameo (1 3/4" x 1 3/8") on front and titles in (faded) gilt. Small octavo [7x4.5 inches]. textblock square, binding tight. 160 pages, illustrated endpapers. Sixteen pages illustrate individual cocktails in color, also another sixteen pages with color illustrations of Mr. Boston brand liquors. General wear from (probably happy) use,but clean and tight copy of only the second printing of this ubiquitous, culturally indispensable, and beloved household "tool". Bottoms Up! "Beginning in 1935, the Guide has been endorsed, consulted, and considered a basic tool by both professional and avocational bartenders. In the 80 years that followed, the Guide has since printed more than 11 million times, and held a place of honor on innumerable bars throughout the world." (Mr. Boston web location).
