Published by Chapman & Hall, Ltd, London, 1906, 1st edition, 2 volume set. Brown cloth boards, gilt lettering & decoration to spine and front covers, no dustwrappers. Teg. 9ins x 6ins, Volume one: xv, (i), 327pp plus frontis and 14pp plates. Many other illustrations within the text. Volume two: xi, (i), 316pp plus frontis and 16pp plates. Again many illustrations within the text. All the illustrations were drawn by the author. Light foxing (heaviest to the endpapers) to both volumes. The spines of both volumes are uniformly sunned. Some small areas of discolouration to the front boards. Overall G+ nr VG. Nb heavy set (2.4k pre-packing), may incur higher postage charges.
