Classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, based on Lynn Riggs' play, "Green Grow the Lilacs," that premiered at the St. James Theatre in New York City in 1943. Basis for the subsequent 1955 film directed by Fred Zinneman and starring Gordon MacRae, Gloria Grahame, and Rod Steiger. Uncommon in this condition. About Fine and unread in a Near Fine dust jacket. The usual offsetting to the endpapers, else book is Fine. Jacket has light toning and tiny chipping at the spine and extremities. An attractive copy.

Price intact on first flap. Short tears, chips/small pieces missing from extremities, mostly at spine panel, age darken, overall Fair condition.
