The cloth at the head of the spine has a 1/2" closed tear and the cloth at the heel of the spine is rubbed and there is minor foxing to the fore edge of the text block. Without its issued dust jacket. A quarto measuring 11" tall by 8 1/2" deep containing 261 pages including an index, appendices and text. Illustrated throughout with line drawings one white photographs throughout.color plate (frontispiece) and 21 black and white plates.

Light foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing noticeable looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with prominent fraying and crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.
