Alphonse Lemerre, Paris OEUVRES DE HORACE. TRADUCTION NOUVELLE PAR LECONTE DE LISLE AVEC LE TEXTE LATIN. Paris: Alphonse Lemerre, no date. Two 18mo in 3/4 red morocco over marbled boards with five raised bands, gilt titling, and gilt top edges. 263 & 268 pp. These are beautifully bound by Vauthrin of Paris for Brentano's, New York; ex-library copies with no external markings. There are library bookplates on the rear of the ffeps, deaccession stamps on the ffeps and front flyleaves, blind stamps on the title pages, and reference room stickers on the obverse of the rfeps. Otherwise excellent condition. Exteriors are clean with minimal wear to the leather. Bindings are strong. Text blocks are clean and tight. Texts are pristine throughout; no writing or markings of any kind. A beautiful set, despite its library provenance.. Hardcover. Very Good.
