About This Item
Paris: Editions Rivarol, 1950. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good. 4to 11" - 13" tall. Signed by Author. A beautiful, doubly signed, presentation copy, signed by Cogniat and George at first free endpaper, in two different colors of ink, but both inscribing it warmly to Maurice Noel in tortured French that is virtually illegible, but clearly thanking him for his varied assistance. Limited edition. This is one of but 20 copies. Gate-fold wraps with a color illustration on the front cover. Sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copy, moderate wear of covers including slight split to spine bottom joints no greater than half an inch, light scuffing to and ever so slight tear to upper spine rear joint. Neither underlining nor highlighting. Perfectly readable, usable copy. Errata note laid in at front. (1)-45 + 33 unpaginated plates. Plates are printed in black and white except for three which are tipped in and in full color. A dozen full-color plates laid loosely inside a packet inserted into a wing-folder affixed inside rear flap. Four of them are tipped in. The prints reproduce the original signed, numbered states but are not newly so. Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. Unexploded top edges.
