ix+320 pages. Octavo (8" x 5 1.4") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. Novelist, poet and scholar, Robert Graves went from his school days right to the trenches in WW I. Seriously wounded during the Battle of the Somme, he began writing during his convalescence, to explore his feelings about war. That was the beginning of a long distinguished career. Besides his epic novels, he also penned a series of short stories, essays, plays and interviews. This volume collects together the best of these works. Condition: Hinges and wrappers lightly rubbed, remainder mark at heal end pages, lightly soiled, edge wear, pages age toned else a very good copy.
