About This Item

London: Frederick Warne And Co, 1942. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Good/Poor. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. First edition and printing. In good mid blue cloth boards, navy titles to front and back strip. The covers are quite clean, with sunned area to top front edge; fairly tight and straight. "The Clevedon Community Co-operative Bookshop Bindery Team" have gently cleaned the top of spine cover. Lightly marked end papers and very light tanning; brief dedication on front free end paper. Age-toned cut edges. The text block 'describes 108 types' of airplane and has '321 illustrations'. The pages are quite securely bound, not tanned or marked and quite bright. "The Bindery Team" have glued back together gaps between pp 32/33 and pp 96/97 to stabilise the spine. Good condition. Inside poor dust jacket, grubby and with piece missing from front top and tail edges and chipped rear cover. The b/w photo to front not affected and 'Airplanes' from title exists. Not price clipped. With cellophane cover to protect.

About Clevedon Community Bookshop

Clevedon Community Bookshop, co-operatively owned, opened on 31 December 2011 and now has a general stock of approximately 20,000 books. Our bookshop in Copse Road is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00am to 4.00pm. The co-operative comprises just over 600 members from around the world and was set up to stop the only second-hand bookshop in our town from closing. The benefit of being a member/shareholder is only social: no-one benefits financially. All profits are used to improve the bookshop and its stock, and, through events, to contribute to the literacy and literary profile of our town. The Bookshop Manager has fifteen years' experience in second-hand bookselling. Email us if you would like to join our co-operative and thus jointly own our bookshop with us.
