London: Printed for .Cadell Jun. and W.Davies,Strand 1798. hard cover, marbled paper on boards, black calf quarter binding, 359pp,, 1 page of publishers ads, , 18 black and white aquatint illustrations, all present, gift presentation inscription to half title page, not dated, but Melbourne cited as address, spine edges are worn, with small pieces missing, binding still quite firm , corners worn, edges faded and some pages are stained, overall still a good and complete copy. William Gilpin was Prebendary of Salisbury, and Vicar of Boldre in New Forest, near Lymington.
