[TITLE in English: Physico-medical observations on the worms that form in the intestines; with particular reference to taenia, i.e. tapeworms, and the various ways of treating this disease.] On intestinal worms, being the topic of his 1753 dissertation on tapeworms, or helminthiasis, in humans. Charles Bonnet wrote about tapeworms in 1743. Helminthiasis is often the result of poor sanitation as worm eggs contaminate the soil and are thus transferred to humans and other animals. This work also reflects the author’s time in Paris studying medicine in the mid-18th century. Blake, NLM, p. 124; Cushing D211; Hirsch/Hub. II, 286; Wellcome, II, p. 477.
