Truebner & Co., 1886. xiv, 326, 32 plates. . HB. 4to, orig. cloth, lacks spine, small loss to front board, joints broken only attached by cords. Internally clean. Fair.. Fort Rae was first established on the north shore Great Slave Lake, Canada in 1852 as a provision post for the Hudson's Bay Company. In 1882, Fort Rae was selected as meteorological observation station for the International Polar Year research, as it was the nearest of the company's station to the Magnetic Pole. An observation station was established by Captain H.P. Dawson. This work contains details of meteorological and magnetical observations..
