Rebacked in grey cloth with paper title label. New front free endpaper, page edges untrimmed. Some light foxing to text, otherwise very clean throughout. Original binding flaw - page gathering D is absent and gathering B has been duplicated by mistake. Therefore pages 33-48 are absent (modern printed copies are provided with the book). This volume comes from the private library of Dr. John Kirkup, orthopaedic surgeon and renowned surgical historian, with his label to front free endpaper and pencilled notes to front free endpaper and a few margin notes. Complete with all 8 engraved plates, 3 of them folding. Scarce. Overall condition is Good. Size: 5.5 x 9 inches (14 x 23 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: xxii,295 + 8 plates
