Melbourne: Georgian House, 1950. 1st. Hardback. Good/Good. Harold Freeman. First edition hardback, 1950, with unclipped jacket. In overall good condition with minor signs of handling and storage - dj is rubbed to edges with several closed tears. Internally very clean. Binding tight and appears little read, no annotations or inscriptions - names to front pastedown dated 1950; slight toning to endpapers and untrimmed page-ends but text and charming illustrations bright and clear throughout. From a private collection, not an old library book. Photograph available.

Illustrator: Douglas Seabrook -- Maps. the previous owner had protected the book and used sticky tape which has fallen off, leaving marks on the end pages and the fold over flaps. Otherwise clean and tidy with minimal damage to the corners of the dustjacket. This book was produced as a companion volume to Barrel and Book, and Is in Its Second Revised Printing. It Was Given As a Christmas Present in 1952 By a Guy from Crooked River according to the annotation on the inside of the front cover Second Impression. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
