London: White Lion Publishers Linited, 1974. Reprint of this novel by Showell Styles originally published in 1966. The novel is based on the true facts of a small armed steamship built by Lairds of Liverpool for the Confederate States and used by them to great effect against the North during the US Civil War. Great Britain was adjudged liable for the cost of the damage : £3,299,166 13s, 4d. The book is good although it has a hole pierced in the cover by some inplement, the dustwrapper is fair with wear at the edges and a few edge tears, the tear from the piercing has been repaired from the inside.. Reprint.
