Taupe cloth binding, with brown titles on front and spine. Clean, unmarked, corners all lightly compressed, spine head and heel scuffed. Top edge with publisher's brown tint. Fore-edge and lower edge rough cut. Tight and solid sewn binding, with cracked inner hinge. Internals quite clean and free from any markings, lightly toned. Some reviewers see a comparison to Louisiana politician Huey Long (1893-1935, LA Governor, Senator. assassinatedib 1935) to the corrupt politician Chuch Crawford in this Dos Passos story, who tries to pin a scandal on his campaign manager, 304 pages. 8.25 x 5.75 inches. 1944, The Sun Dial Press,Garden City, New York.
