About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1949. Thompson's first mystery in the scarce original jacket. There is a stamp on the front pastedown from a book & library service, a scuff on the front free end paper from sticker removal, and a typewritten blurb glued to the rear free end paper. No other library indications. The spine ends are bumped with a bit of rubbing to the edges of the green boards. Light tape residue to the boards and end papers where an old jacket protector had been attached. Previous owner's name stamped on the front pastedown. The binding is square and solid. The jacket has internal stiff paper reinforcement to the spine and flap folds as well as the upper and lower edges. Jacket is rubbed with small chips at the corners and spine ends, flaps are corner clipped with a crease to the rear flap, in newer mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Ex-Library.
