First edition, Senate issue (preceded by the House issue), 8vo, pp. 416; with 40 lithograph plates and 3 sketch maps, and without the large folding map which was ""not in all copies"" - Howes. With the bookplate of the railroad baron, James J. Hill, with the perforated stamp of the library he founded in the margin of the title-p. (touching 1 letter), and with accession numbers on spine; original brown cloth, spine ends chipped, paper label perished but with an added manuscript label in what may be Hill's hand. Howes E-145.
