Sound binding, bright pages and text, light soiling to spine, no ownership markings. DJ chipped, not clipped, endpapers lightly glue-stained, light tanning along spine edge, in Mylar wrap. Well packaged in a box, ships with tracking. Edmund Wilson was an American writer of plays, poems and novels but was most influential as an editor at “Vanity Fair”, book reviewer at “The New Yorker”, and respected literary critic. Wilson attended Princeton with F. Scott Fitzgerald who referred to him as his “intellectual conscience” and his works influenced novelists Upton Sinclaire and Thodore Dreiser among many others.Wilson was selected by John F Kennedy to receive “The Presidential Medal of Freedom” and was quoted as saying “Marxism is the opium of the intellectuals”. This book contains many of Wilson’s most influential poetic works.
