Octavo, pp 304. 16 colour plates and over 160 black-and-white photographs and line drawings in text. Green cloth with gilt titles to spine in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket designed by Robert Gillmor. Spine lightly creased and upper corner of lower board a little bruised. Signed by the Author, without dedication, to ffep. Jacket very lightly toned to edges with light creasing top edge. A near fine copy in like dust-jacket. Natural history of the county and of the Cumbrian uplands, covering ecology, geology and climate and the rich variety of flora and fauna living there. An excellent example of a signed copy in jacket.
