New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1946. Very Good. Second printing of the first edition. Signed by Elizabeth Bishop on the front free endpaper, inscribed "For Ilse and Kit Barker, with esteem and affection, Elizabeth Bishop." viii, 54 Bound in publisher's blue cloth binding lettered in silver, lacking the dust jacket. Very Good with toning to spine and edges, spine ends lightly bruised. Top edge dust soiled with light foxing. Endsheets slightly foxed; contents have penciled marginalia.
The acclaimed American poet's first collection. A nice association copy between Bishop and British couple the Barkers (whose collection of correspondence with Bishop is held at Princeton).
