About This Item
Edmonds, Washington: Pacific Fast Mail, 1975. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. A definitive history of the 4-8-4 wheel arrangement, tracing the chronological development beginning with the Northern Pacifiic class A and concluding with the Western Maryland J-1 Potomacs, the last new railroad to reveive 4-8-4's in 1947. Green cloth with silver titling on spine, silver illustration on front, illustrated end papers which are different front and rear, title page is followed by a fold-out two-page colour photograph on both sides, illustrated throughout with black and white plates, several of which are fold-outs, 248 pages. Dust jacket, which is not price-clipped, is illustrated with a lovely watercolour painting by Mike Pearsall. Jacket has light edgewear and a horizontal tear across upper back which has been repaired with clear tape, but is clean and bright. This is a handsome book. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg. Additional charges will apply for heavier shipments, but not until the customer agrees. Canadian customers, please note that applicable sales taxes will be added. Please contact us with any questions you might have. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall-Oblong
