New York: Harper & Brothers, Publishers. Good. 1874. 1st American Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. This book is in Good only condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have bumping, rubbing, wear and fraying. The spine of the book has noticeable fading. There is a two inch+ long splotch of ink to the top rear cover edge. The text pages are generally clean and bright. There are several pages with spots of foxing toward the first 10-15 pages of the text. There is a previous owner's name on the front pastedown page. "Ninety-Three (Quatrevingt-treize) [1] is the last novel by the French writer Victor Hugo. Published in 1874, three years after the bloody upheaval of the Paris Commune of the French Revolution, the novel concerns the Revolt in the Vendée and Chouannerie – the counter-revolutionary revolts in 1793 during the French Revolution. It is divided into three parts, but not chronologically; each part tells a different story, offering a different view of historical general events. Synopsis
Ninety-Three (Quatrevingt-treize) is the last novel by the French writer Victor Hugo. Published in 1874, shortly after the bloody upheaval of the Paris Commune, the novel concerns the Revolt in the Vendée and Chouannerie — the counter-revolutionary revolt in 1793 during the French Revolution. It is divided into three parts, but not chronologically; each part tells a different story, offering a different view of historical general events.
