Paperback. Fair. [SIGNED] Stockholm: Norstedt, 1886. Tall hardcover in cloth and titled paper over boards. INSCRIBED on front paste-down, "The Smithsonian Institution / From the author." (4), 50, (2) pages + 41 toned lithograph plates + 2 color maps (one double-page). Bovallius (1849-1907) made zoological and ethnographical investigations during his journey to the West Indies, Central America and South America in 1882-1883. Deaccessioned from an important US library with crossed out bookplate, stamp, etc.; boards heavily chipped at corners with loss on one map corner and lighter chipping to text. (lr)
