Growing up in Port Dalhousie, Ontario, I can't tell you how many times I rode over that Martindale trestle that adorns the cover of "Niagara,St.Catharines, & Toronto Railway.
Thanks to author John M Mills, I get to relive those fabulous years when those marvelous streetcars roamed the Niagara peninsula, from one end to the other.
I knew every driver, every inch of track, every "extra" and had every intention of becoming one of those drivers.
Unfortunately, for me, my dream was shattered when buses replaced the streetcars in March of 1950.
This book is a companion to another John Mills masterpiece "Ontario's Grand River Valley Electric Railways" and both belong on your coffee table, if like me, you were into those wonderful streetcar days. I strongly recommend the hard cover edition of both books. The pictures and text in both are simply superb.
Thanks for some wonderful memories Mr. Mills, those truly were the days.
