A very nice set edited by Arthur Pendennis and with illustrations on steel and wood by Richard Doyle: 48 engraved plates (including titles). 1/2 brown moroocco, gilt and raised bands , marbled edges and marbled endpapers. 1/2 of the title label on Volume I is missing on the spine. Tissueguarded frontis plates on both volumes. Attractive bookplate on endpapers in both volumes.. First Edition. Very Good. Illus. by Richard Doyle.
