London: Collins, 1949. Book. Very Good. Hardback. First Edition. 8vo. pp xvi, 311, colour and b/w plates. Dust jacket bright, not price-clipped, soe fading to the spine. Green buckram boards clean, a little faded. Contents clean, bright and tight, light spotting to endpapers, name to FFEP, no inscriptions. A very good bright clean copy. [Bibliographic note. Collecting the New Naturalist, Collins "Clearly not a rare book, but the pink to the first edition jacket is particularly fugitive, that on the spine should have the same richness of colour as that on the front cover, but it never does. I have yet to see a first edition copy that is even only slightly faded." T. Loe.
