New York: Merrill & Baker. Half Leather. A deluxe edition of The New Natural History in twelve volumes. Red cloth boards, red leather with gilt titling and decoration on spine, raised bands, marbled end papers, colour frontispiece with tissue-guard, illustrated throughout with sixteen hundred engravings, and seventy-two coloured plates with tissue guards. Corners and edges have some wear with rubbing, light sunning to spines, text block edges slightly darkened, otherwise this handsome set is in remarkable condition.
