Vol I: lxxx, 412; II: [4], 556; III: [2], 506; IV: [2], 508 pp. Each volume with engraved title; Volume IV with additional engraved portraits throughout. Bound in marbled calf with beautifully tooled and titled spines, stamp-signed on the verso of the marbled-paper fly leaves, bound by J. Carke; all edges gilt; joints show some splitting, but boards are holding; the front cover of Volume I has been tastefully reattached. Though it appears to have gone into multiple printings, this remains a fairly uncommon title. Armorial bookplate of Ernest Augustus, Earl of Lisburne.
