Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown. Occasional thumb-marking present. Slight cracking to gutters of a few pages. Binding is slightly shaky. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Book is slightly forward leaning. Light sunning to spine and edges. Unclipped jacket has heavy edge wear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing. Mild tanning to spine and edges.

A Very Good copy in original pale blue boards, decorated and lettered in black, lacking the rare dustjacket. Small corner piece of half-title page torn off, no inscription or book-plate, hinges firm and uncracked, spine a little faded, overall a sound, tight copy of a very scarce early Bruce title.. Frontis plate has been badly torn and now has tape repairs on vesro and a small hole to centre. Pencil scribbles erased from title-page. One plate missing and one has large section torn off (and missing) from lower corner. Contents foxed and fingered.
