New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1922. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. xv, 88 pp, with frontispiece, illustrations. Original cloth backed boards, with gilt lettering on front board. Some light wear and toning to edges; else clean and sound. Dust jacket is lacking front flap has some small losses to the spine. In a new mylar cover. Jacket: "Dr. Hale has written a summary of the latest achievements in astronomy in clear, untechnical language for the general reader. The new one-hundred inch telescope at Mt. Wilson and the application of the spectroscope have brought many new factors into the determination of the dimensions and composition of celestial bodies.
