J.G. Short, Lyndhurst, 1876. 2nd edition (but the first to be illustrated with photographs). Folding map at front and 10 albumen photographs mounted on thin card leaves within black ruled borders; these captioned in very light pencil on the blank margins. 8vo (8 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches), 106-pages with 1 leaf of advertisements at end. Original bevelled green cloth attractively blocked in gilt, all edges gilt. Some marking to lower bevelled edge, headbands a trifle bruised. Overall this is a superb copy. Inscribed on verso of front free endpaper "Presented to G. J. Smith, August 29th 1880, by his loving wife Fannie".
