Price of $2.00 intact on front flap. Chase's influential Depression-era text calling for top-down economic regulation, concluding with the pithy question, "Why should the Soviets have all the fun remaking a world?" Whether the title of this book, also used in a New Republic article written by Chase, was adopted by FDR as the name for his broad spectrum of economy-saving programs is not confirmed. However, Roosevelt first used "new deal" in a speech the week that article was published. The scarce dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve. .
