A favorite of "brides and experienced cooks" since its introduction in 1946, this NEW edition from 1955 is classic midcentury modern, with 100 new recipes + 450 all-time favorites that epitomize the Western way of cooking, eating, & entertaining. This is the Second Printing (per letter line) of this new edition, a hardcover 8vo with bright yellow cloth-covered boards lettered in brown to spine. Condition is VG: very clean save for a light smudge to front cover & light spotting/tanning/foxing to external page edges. Small check marker & sticker to ffep. Binding strong & straight, with crack to gutter at title page. Pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age, heaviest around edges. The unclipped DJ is VG-, with minor edgewear & light chipping, heavier at both ends of spine. Nicely protected in new clear mylar cover.
