About This Item
New York/Los Angeles: Samuel French, Inc.. Very Good. (c.1931, 1926). French's Standard Library Edition. Softcover. [top one inch or so of spine covering is missing, no other significant wear]. (stage diagrams, one B&W photograph) Maine-set comedy by the future screenwriter of GONE WITH THE WIND, one of a couple of his less well-known plays that were sandwiched between the Pulitzer Prize-winning "They Knew What They Wanted" in 1924 and his next big hit (supposedly, per Wikipedia), "The Silver Cord," in 1926. (In fact, though, "Ned McCobb's Daughter" opened a month earlier than "The Silver Cord," and its run continued a month after the other play's closing: it logged 156 performances vs. "The Silver Cord"'s 112. So don't believe everything you read on the Internet.) NOTE that the copyright notice in this printing states: "Copyright 1931 (as an Acting Version)." .
