Contemporary gilt-tooled half-calf, marbled boards, contrasting red morocco lettering-piece, marbled edges. Lightly rubbed, spine dulled. Marbled endpapers, scattered foxing. The first edition of naturalist William Henry Hudson's (1841-1922) collection of 'open-air' essays surveying the habitats and instincts of the fauna of La Plata, La Pampas, Argentina. .
