London: MacMillan and Co., 1891. New edition with corrections. This volume is only mildly ex-library with light edgewear to cloth in very good condition.. Pp. xii, 492. Publisher’s original forest green cloth with spine lettered in gilt and with gilt panel lines at the top and bottom of the spine, the front and rear cloth-covered boards have blind-stamped vertical lines at the top, dark green endpapers, 8vo. This volume combines “Natural Selection” first published in 1870 with “Tropical Nature” first published in 1878 into a new edition with corrections first published in 1891. The front facing endpapers display two bookplates -- Richmond College, Surrey (and) Library of the Wesleyan Theological Institution, Richmond, Surrey. The spine has three small vertical gold lines at the base; there are no other library marks and few signs of use (see photos online or email for photos).
