Bookplate "From the Library of John Greenleaf Whittier Amesbury, Mass. Sale authorized by Samuel T. Pikard. Jan., 1903, Literary Executor" front pastedown. Whittier (Dec. 17, 1807 - Sept 7, 1892) was an American Quaker poet and abolitionist. A very good copy bound in original green cloth with spine rebacked and original spine laid down, gilt lettering spine, gilt decoration front cover, top edge gilt. vi, 430 pp.
