G/none, used hc, viii-x, 255pp. + Index and Appendix. Brown colored cloth over boards with gilt text on spine; edge wear and fraying; tips bumped; about 1/4" of cloth is missing from each head and tail of spine; several discolored spots on upper. Former owner's name plate on front paste down; another owner's name penciled on ffep. Interior pages are foxed; edge damaged and some pages have penciled notations. It would appear that all pages are present but some have pieces missing; finger soiling, creases and are age-toned. Upper hinge is part split and part sprung. Includes information on Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Fishes, Batrachians, Insects, Crustqcians, Mollusks, Star-shaped Animials and Protozoans. For a book over 143 years old, it is in pretty good shape..
