A gallery of color plates includes full-color representations of 192 historic and contemporary Native flags. Carl Waldman's foreword places the flags within the context of Indian history, mythology, and art, and shows how Native American flags have become powerful symbols of Native unity and tribal sovereignty." Interior - a tiny bump at the bottom corner of the first few pages, a small soft corner crease on the last page, otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks. Exterior - a lean to the spine, light rubbing on the covers, a 1" x 1/4" surface paper loss at the bottom of the rear cover, small soft corner crease on the front cover, very light edge wear, a closed tear across the spine, some shelf soiling on the bottom of the text block..
