Hall, Washington: Government Printing Office, 1879. Heavy quarto, first edition, pp. l, 644, green buckram library binding, maps, but lacking large folding map in rear, heliotypes and other illustrated plates, library markings to preliminaries. Largely based on Hall's own manuscripts. In addition to exploration, the purpose of the voyage was to solve the mystery of the disappeared Franklin expedition -- to no avail. However, Hall was able to provide a lot of information about Inuit living. Condition of this book: Very clean, foxing, mostly to preliminary leaves. Very sound in library binding. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
