London: Smith, Elder and Co., 1842. Book. Very good- condition. Hardcover. First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. [iv], 172 pages of text, followed by 24 pages of publisher's advertisement. Original brown cloth, rebacked with the gilt-lettered part of the original spine laid-down. The extremities of the boards are worn. New endpapers. Protected in archival mylar. Illustrated with 3 lithographed plates. The frontispiece is foxed. Advertisements dated October 1842. The author was employed by the British Central American Land Company "to form a settlement at Black River, about eighty miles from the Central American port of Truxillo, in the State of Honduras...". Palau 378049. First edition..
