About This Item
Washington, D.C.: Thomas H. Ford. Good+. 1860. Hardcover. Original binding, with brown leather spine and corners and marbled paper over board covers. There is wear and rubbing to the spine edges and the edges of the boards, with the board edges rubbed through many places. The corners are also slightly bumped and starting to rub through. The binding is tight. Upon collating this book, I found that plates 35 and 36 are missing. All other chromolithographic plates and the three folding maps inside the back cover are present. This was issued as volume 12 of the "Reports of Explorations and Surveys to Ascertain the Most Practicable and Economical Route for Railroads on the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. There are 358 pages plus 41 page appendix. The chromolithographs are exceptionally detailed and beautiful in this book.; 399 pages .
