About This Item

Two volumes bound in one, iv + 78pp, and 232pp, signed and numbered 'Eliz Scrope. No 1244,' on the last leaf, full early calf, raised bands, rubbed, top board held by strings. Gervase Scrope was the father of Elizabeth Scrope. He had accused Cresswell of several things including bigamy. Cresswell was elected Member of Parliament for Wootton Bassett from 1754 to 1774. He died at Pinkney Park in 1788. ---- Regular CATALOGUES issued, please e-mail for a FREE copy, they include WILTSHIRE - ( History - Topography - Genealogy - Natural History - Biography - Mining - Dialect - Language - etc. ) ----
