A historical account of military campaigns of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1805, written by Maycock with eight folding maps throughout the text. First Edition. Illustrations include eight folding maps throughout the text, which depict the positions of the French Corps as well as military actions that took place. This is a comprehensive account on the Campaign of 1805, in which the Austrian and Russian Armies were overthrown, resulting in the downfall of the Third Coalition and the rise of the fame of Napoleon Bonaparte. Contents include 'Causes Rendering the Campaign Inevitable', 'The Austrian Advance into Bavaria', 'Escape of Werneck's Corps', and 'The Chronology of the Campaign'. This work ends with an appendix to page 105. Written by Captain F. W. O. Maycock, who was the author of 'Napoleon's European Campaigns' as well as being part of the Suffolk Regiment.One page of publisher's adverts to front of text, with two more pages to rear of text.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Boards are discoloured and soiled with marks to the boards as well as the spine. Light wear to head and tail of spine, as well as extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout, with light age-toning to margins and the odd handling mark. Folding maps are bright and clean. Very Good
