New York: Leavitt & Allen, 1855. Later printing. Hardcover. Fair. Small octavo. x, 422pp., x Appendix. Dark green cloth hardcover with blind stamped decorative covers. Gilt illustration and title on the spine. Illustrated with frontispiece portrait of Napoleon and 5 plates. The illustrations inside do not match up with the title, page numbers, and quantity listed on the contents pages (binders error?). It does not appear any illustrations were removed or torn out. Pages 53 & 54 and pages 127 & 128 are not present however the continuity of the narrative is not missing. Another binders error? Light to moderate scattered foxing to contents. Previous owner inscription "Alexander Thayer Franklin Mass" written on the front blank end paper. Cloth lightly edge worn head of spine and on the corners.
