Among the highlights noted were the following: Autograph note signed by Napoleon to the President of the Senate, 1805; an important and extensive series of letters from Napoleon to his Minister of War, the Duc de Feltre, 1806-14; minutes authorising payments to the army in Corsica, witnessed and signed by Napoleon, 1792-93; letters of Napoleon to the Duc de Frioul, 1813, to the Duc de Raguse, 1813, and to General Drouot, Elba, 1814. Letters and documents of General Marbot, General Berthier, Commissaire Sucy, Cairo, 1798, Eugène Beauharnais, and the Duc de Feltre, most with notes, dockets or signed by Napoleon. The file of Joseph Fouché, chief of police, on the "conspiration de l'agence Anglaise", a plot to assassinate Napoleon; a good series of letters of the revolutionary, Paul Jean Barras; letters of Eugène Beauharnais, son of the Empress Josephine, adopted by Napoleon in 1806, a commonplace book of Carlo Buonaparte, father of Napoleon; silver watch given to Napoleon by his escort en route to St. Helena. The very extensive correspondence of the Duke of Wellington with Sir Charles Stuart, and John Fane, Lord Burghersh's autograph memoir of the campaigns of Wellington in Spain and Portugal. An extensive group of prints from the series, L'Imagerie d'Épinal; Bovi's Incidents in the Life of the Royal Family of France, 1793-6; Tegg's NapOmnipotent, or the Acme of Arrogance and Presumption, 1813, and other cartoons and caricatures.
