[8], 1-340, [2] pp. White publisher's cloth with brilliant gilt, red, and blue decorations on the front board and spine; top edge gilt. A red bookmark bound in. With its original red dust jacket lettered in gilt on the spine. Without the slipcase. Illustrated with a frontispiece and with 19 plates, each with a printed tissue guard. Both a history of the region and a travel narrative, recording Clement's observations of the people, the customs, and the architecture of Naples. Some offsetting on the free front endpaper and front pastedown.
