Octavo (22cm); blue cloth over boards, titled in gilt in spine; 344pp. With ownership signature in pencil of Raymond Greene to front free endpaper. Slight rubbing to board edges; scattered faint foxing within, still a sound, Very Good copy.
Greene's scarce second novel. This copy with Greene family provenance, having belonged to Graham's older brother Raymond (1901-1982), a medical doctor and mountaineer who participated in the fourth Everest Expedition. He was awarded the French Legion of Honor following his service as medical advisor to Gen. Charles De Gaulle in 1960.
