Small square quarto, xx, 91 pages with numerous illustrations plus endpaper maps and 16 pages of colour plates. Colour pictorial papered boards; extremities slightly rubbed; pastedowns a little bubbled; an excellent copy with the dustwrapper lightly scuffed, rubbed and sunned. 'An account of the manifold art forms which developed under the direct influence of the cult of head-hunting and ritual feasts, almost all of which are now extinct' (dustwrapper blurb).
