About This Item
New York: NAACP, 1968. Single sheet folded, illustrated pamphlet. Three tone pictorial pamphlet; fine copy of a scarce document. Single sheet folded, illustrated pamphlet. The pamphlet features an article about the Roy Lee Hunter's story. Hunter was the first Black graduate of Unadilla High School in Unadilla, Georgia in the Class of 1969 but doing so required assistance provided by the LDF. Founded in 1940 under the leadership of Thurgood Marshall, the LDF (Legal Defense Fund) was launched at a time when the nation's aspirations for equality and due process of law were stifled by widespread state-sponsored racial inequality.
